Services and Specialties

Clinic Based Treatments

At Willow Kids clinic, a variety of treatments are delivered based on your child's age and needs. My sessions typically include a mix of fun, engaging activities to promote strength, mobility, coordination, and functional skills. I incorporate evidence-based techniques and adaptive equipment to support progress while ensuring sessions are enjoyable and empowering for the child. Collaboration with caregivers and other professionals is integral to my approach, ensuring consistency across environments for the child's growth and success.

Equine Movement

Physical therapy with a horse, sometimes called "hippotherapy" is a tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional PT outcomes.  Ali partners with Healing Reins to incorporate equine movement as a treatment tool into physical therapy sessions.

Why Equine movement?

Multi-Sensory

Dynamic Movement Patterns

Dynamic Movement Patterns

The rhythmic, repetitive movement of a horse provides sensory input that can help regulate the child’s sensory system.

The three-dimensional motion of the horse’s gait closely mimics the human walking pattern. This can facilitate improvements in walking patterns and encourage motor planning.

Core Strength and Postural Control

Core Strength and Postural Control

Riding a horse challenges and strengthens the core muscles as the child adjusts to the horse’s movements. This helps improve postural stability and trunk control.

Emotional and Social Benefits

Working with a horse can boost confidence, reduce anxiety, and encourage social interaction.  The unique environment and interaction with the horse are highly engaging for many children, promoting participation and enjoyment in therapy sessions.
